Early August happenings

I have been trying to stay home lately as much as possible. Sometimes, I think I could like being a hermit! Here are some pictures of some "happenings" here at home....

Water fight in the back yard! Muddy water! They had a kiddie pool, but being the rambunctious boys they are it is no longer serviceable (it has holes). So we are using the sandbox as a replacement.

I kept hearing a muffled "Mommy" and this was what I found in my dryer.... The door was shut but he was smiling

This is a picture of my "beloved" garden produce.. a zucchini. There are plenty more where that came from and I am planning on freezing some of them since I already made several loaves of zucchini bread, casserole, ect... I also have tomatoes but they aren't blog picture material because they just aren't big enough to brag about. I am hoping to get enough to do some canning this year.

Justin and Jonathan earlier (before the water fight). Justin has his very own home-made bow and arrow. He is really proud because his "arrow"(which is a stick) shoots all the way across the yard. Jonathan is a gun-lover. He wishes his was real but I don't want any dead children.

Riding bikes at a nearby park

And this is for my blogger friends who won't cook wild "critters". I love this one because Justin is waving "bye bye" to the FROG LEGS he helped to cook. Yes, you read correctly! And "gigged" by my own dear husband just for his little muchkins to eat.

and a close-up for your viewing ENJOYMENT :-)

Girl, you're out of control with those frog legs! Ewww....
But the pics of the boys are great! Are they ready to start school? Justin and Jonathan I mean :)
Hey, are you too much of a hermit to consider coming to a wee little cousin party at my place on 8/10? I'm thinking food( no frog legs, please) and games. You can let me know. I need to get invites out to everyone.
Well, gotta run. Love ya, and ttyl..

They are probly good, but they look disgusting!! (the frog legs) All of the boys look so big. They look like they have grown since I last saw them even!

Well girls, the frog legs may look gross but my boys think they are a treat. I am just glad the meat is white instead of green! I may be brave, but a friend of mine who has 3 boys and a big pond on her property is much, much braver than myself. She admitted to me the other day that her boys bring home the frogs and she SKINS them before she cooks the frog legs. Now THAT'S a country girl! I haven't gotten to that point yet.... I need a little more bravery to get that far with it. I have come a LONG way since I was in high school/college though. My brother Josh brought such things home (and worse!) and I would run as far away as I could. God knew what I was getting into in the future, so He gave me Josh as a brother!

oh no you did not!!!! I know you did not just cook frog legs in your kitchen!!!! That is hysterical!!! You really can save money on food huh? Just go get a critter out of the front yard!!! Now when you start dipping your crickets in chocolate, I'm gonna get worried!!

Cute post! My Mom cooked turtle for my brothers growing up...and it kept climbing out of the pan, while it was cooking. UGH! It was DEAD, but the nerves kept it moving. You are a nice, brave Mommy to cook those for your family! Frog legs are good, to me, they taste like chicken.

Thanks for your nice comment on my blog.

I also put a LONG comment on your roll/ cinnamon rolls post! =)
Wanted to make sure you got it!

Love, Heather =)

Looks like you are having a wonderful summer.
I've never cooked frog legs even though I'm from LA. It's one of my Dad's favorites. I do have a new recipe for Crawfish Fettucine. Do you eat crawfish in AL?

A shout out to kelly creek. Kim, I'm proud of you girl. The frog legs look tasty. Josh and I brought home some tasty gator tail from last years hunt, so he's still at it. We didn't get the permit this year though. Just wanted to say how good it is to see a mom that let's her boys be boys.

Hey Kim. I was one of the first to comment on this, but for some reason my comment isn't there. I must have done something wrong.

You poor thing...what is Michael doing to you?! Just kidding. You really are a very very good wife/Mommy. I couldn't go that far unless we were dying of starvation. :)

So glad I could get you sight. The picture in the dryer scares me. One time my grand-daughter's cat, named fluffy was in the dryer, and it ended up fluffy and dead.
