Life with boys....

What is life like with a household of boys?
Well, sometimes I have days where I walk through the house and notice a lot of imperfections. Smudges, dirt, and yes...mischief. One particular day, during the boys' playtime, I just decided to take my camera and snap things as I saw them. Here is your glimpse: (except for the mud, which was yesterday)
Warning: pictures below are not for the uptight perfectionist!

Army men hanging from the refrigerator

Muddy feet (the snow has finally melted!)
Out of the jar pickle consumption-well since there was only a couple left...why dirty a bowl for mom to clean?

bedpost lassos
Climbing the dresser in the playroom (this definitely against the rules!)
smudges: a never-ending battle
I have decided that instead of letting imperfections frustrate me, I will choose to see them as beauty instead of as trials.
The beauty is seeing that-
***Without childhood imperfections, character cannot be molded (neither the children's nor the parents')***.

So funny - and I can relate! However, girls can be almost that bad too!

I agree with Kelly. Girls can be quite messy. I usually can't walk through my living room due to the fort that is covering it.

I too, can totally relate! :)

Kim, you are an exceptional mom. Too many moms try to emasculate and tame their boys instead of celebrating the wildness and passion that our creator instills in many boys. The masculine soul needs direction but not nearly the amount of "taming" that happens in our society.

Aw Roger, you are too sweet. I am nothing without the Lord.. He is my guide. Begging the Lord for wisdom! And yes, I know what you mean. Our men & boys need us to build them up and encourage their masculinity, not tear them down!

I can definately relate! And I only have two brothers. Pickles out of the jar? Ummm...I am guilty of that in our home! Girls can be messy in their own different way. Like getting all of big sisters make-up out and smearing it everywhere, including themselves. But I wouldn't trade them for the world!

Great post Mrs. Kim! And I like your new background!
