mushroom pictures

Here is my outdoorsy hubby with the morel mushrooms he found the other day. Notice I added before and after pictures. The first picture is the VERY TINY mushroom he found this year on March 31st. It was the only one he found that day. The face tells it all!!!
He, his brother in- law and his cousin found 3 pounds of them last week(the 25th), thus the happy face. Of course he is a little proud of them. Someone told me today that they sell for $40 a pound. They are pretty yummy! Of course these in the picture hadn't been soaked or cooked yet so they don't look yummy at all but they are!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I wish everyone could come and visit us in England and we could show everyone around. But, I know that isn't possible with everyone. So, pictures are the next best thing. However, Mrs. B might be coming to visit this summer.

Love the way your blog is looking. Isn't this fun? The pictures of the mushrooms make me think of back when Dad and I use to pick mushrooms. I'd say, Let's go pick some wishes. Wishes was short for delicious. :/ Anyway...those were the days.

Hi Kim!

The second batch looks much better. I'm sure the look on Michael's face was much better too:) I'm still paranoid about mushrooms though. I'm always worried that he'll get a poisonous one. I know, I know...just paranoid. Can't help it:)

I remember my mom frying loads of mushrooms when I was a kid, boy those were good. Wish you could share. Enjoy anyway.

I didn't know mushrooms were worth so much. I'll have to have Harold go on a mushroom hunt.

I feel really dumb, 'cause I'm totally lost on this mushroom thing. I mean, I know a good stuffed mushroom when I eat one, but what's the deal here?!

Hey Ya'll - Check this out...

Kelly you need to get over your paranoia and try these things... they are out of this world! Mark, you don't know what you're missing!

Anita, Erin, Julia, Kayla, & Tara ...check out the website if you are interested in hunting morels. Tara can learn a little more about what we are talking about! I didn't know about them until I moved to Indiana. Of course you can't just pick any mushroom.. Michael is serious about this stuff so he has to do the research on it. You have to look in certain areas. You have to hold your mouth right, etc.
Justin found one all by himself last year. That was a big deal! And they don't taste anything like your regular mushroom either. They are in a league of their own!

You've definitely got to do research and know how to spot a poisonous mushroom. There are some dangerous ones out there and ones that can create some pretty interesting hallucinations.

Yeah for mushrooms.
